Baseball Recap: Lamar Comes Up Short

After flying high against McDonald County on Thursday, Lamar came back down to earth. The Tigers took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Strafford Indians on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 9-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Strafford, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will welcome Jasper at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Strafford, they will host Bolivar at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Liberators have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.71 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
