Basketball Recap: Drake Carroll Key Part of a Team Effort in Mustangs Win

Crimson Cliffs won the last time they faced Hurricane and things went their way on Friday too. The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs walked away with an 80-68 win over the Hurricane Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Crimson Cliffs' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drake Carroll, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 assists. Another player making a difference was Mckay Lindquist, who went 9 of 15 en route to 22 points and six rebounds.

Carroll wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Crimson Cliffs was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hurricane only racked up 13 assists.

Hurricane's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Calan Hughes, who went 10 for 11 on his way to 23 points and seven boards, and Brigham Kemp, who went 10 of 18 en route to 25 points. Kemp's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. RJ Hurst was another key player, putting up eight points.

Crimson Cliffs has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Hurricane, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Crimson Cliffs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-41 win against Pine View on the 15th. Hurricane has also already played their next game, a 58-44 victory against Cedar on the 13th.
