Softball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Thomas Jefferson ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Connellsville Falcons. The win continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won six in a row.

Aubrey Shaffer spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Addi Bracco, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Alisesky, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Thomas Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Connellsville, they moved to 10-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Thomas Jefferson will be playing at home against Bethel Park at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Connellsville, they will head out on the road to challenge Penn-Trafford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
