Basketball Game Preview: Burns Hilanders vs. Nyssa Bulldogs

Burns is 2-8 against Nyssa since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Burns Hilanders will look to defend their home court against the Nyssa Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Burns knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Nyssa likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Burns earned a 66-58 victory over Crane.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, Nyssa was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They were beaten by Vale 61-21. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now lost five in a row.

Burns' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.5 points over those games. As for Nyssa, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

Burns beat Nyssa 47-35 when the teams last played back in January. Will Burns repeat their success, or does Nyssa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
