Football Recap: Ponca City Triumphs

Ponca City was handed a 22-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 24-23 victory over the Bartlesville Bruins. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 30-20 defeat the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Bartlesville lost, don't look at Michael Kent. Despite the final result, he threw for 237 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 81 yards on only 11 carries. Harrison Ketchum also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.

The win got Ponca City back to even at 4-4. As for Bartlesville, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Coincidentally, Ponca City and Bartlesville will both be playing Putnam City West the next time they take the field. The Bruins will head out to face the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will host them at 7:00 p.m. on November 7.
