Baseball Recap: Thunderbird Adventist Academy Victorious

Thunderbird Adventist Academy took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Flagstaff Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Thunderbird Adventist Academy skirted past Flagstaff Christian 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Thunderbird Adventist Academy has posted since March 4th.

Jacob Baumann made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 12 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Allen Mihai, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Tobey Lounsbury was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Thunderbird Adventist Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flagstaff Christian only posted a batting average of .235.

Thunderbird Adventist Academy's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9. As for Flagstaff Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-6.
