Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Coalinga walked away with it. They walked away with a 59-49 victory over the Sierra Chieftains on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Horned Toads sure are getting used to it with their 17th in a row.

Jaden Pena continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 24 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Damyen Tamayo was another key player, earning 14 points.

Coalinga smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Coalinga pushed their record up to 23-6 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Sierra, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-8.

Coalinga has already played their next contest, a 52-47 loss against Monache on the 19th. Sierra does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
