Football Recap: Lafayette Central Catholic Takes a Loss

Lafayette Central Catholic was the 56-21 winner over Twin Lakes when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights were beaten by the Indians 52-3 on Friday. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.

Joey Metzger threw for 67 yards on ten of 18 attempts. Liam Hensley was his top target, picking up 42 receiving yards. On the ground, Mason Meister rushed for 56 yards.

Twin Lakes' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Wagner, who rushed for 135 yards and three scores on only 11 carries. With that strong performance, Wagner is now averaging an impressive 107 rushing yards per game. Cooper Dold was another key passer, throwing for 174 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.6% of his passes.

Lafayette Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Twin Lakes, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lafayette Central Catholic will square off against West Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Twin Lakes, they will face off against Logansport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Berries have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
