            Softball Recap: Princeton Tigers vs. Boonville Pioneers        
        
		
        
        
            Princeton was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They fell  6-2 to the Boonville Pioneers. The Tigers were not able to make up for their  loss to the Pioneers from their previous meeting  back in April of 2024.

  Brooklyn Turpin was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up  five earned  (and one unearned) runs off   nine  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  RBI.
Princeton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Boonville, their victory was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 6-6.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Princeton will face off against Barr-Reeve at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Boonville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Evansville Memorial  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Pioneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.1  runs per game this season.
