Volleyball Game Preview: Saltillo Tigers vs. Pontotoc Warriors

The Saltillo Tigers will head out to challenge the Pontotoc Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pontotoc took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Saltillo, who comes in off a win.

Saltillo is headed out to face Pontotoc after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Tigers blew past Alcorn Central 3-0 on Tuesday.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-22, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Pontotoc didn't have quite enough to beat Tupelo Christian Prep on Saturday and fell 2-1. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-18 in the first set.

Pontotoc started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-16, 15-11.

Saltillo couldn't quite get it done against Pontotoc in their previous meeting back in August of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
