Softball Recap: Lake Norman Victorious

It was a proper cat-fight when Lake Norman took on Foard on Friday. The Lake Norman Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Foard Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Charlee Kelly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Lake Norman got a massive performance out of Vivian Billard, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Harris, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Billard wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Lake Norman lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Lake Norman now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Foard, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Lake Norman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-0 victory against West Cabarrus on the 4th. As for Foard, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-5 loss against St. Stephens on the 4th.
