Baseball Game Preview: St. Michael the Archangel Guardians vs. Van Horn Falcons

For the second straight game, St. Michael the Archangel will face off against Van Horn. The Guardians will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Falcons at 4:30 p.m. St. Michael the Archangel will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

St. Michael the Archangel is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Van Horn 23-5 on Monday. The Guardians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

Gabe Maxwell looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Henry Miller was a standout: he scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. He also put up a home run, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Colston Lyon, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

St. Michael the Archangel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.

Van Horn has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for St. Michael the Archangel, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
