Baseball Game Preview: Enumclaw Hornets vs. Decatur Golden Gators

For the second straight game, Enumclaw will face off against Decatur. The Hornets will be playing at home against the Golden Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Enumclaw has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Enumclaw's win against Decatur wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Golden Gators 2-1 on Monday. That's two games straight that the Hornets have won by just one run.

For Decatur's part, Hunter Buol spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits. Buol has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Decatur saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cervantes (CJ) Gatterson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Enumclaw's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Decatur, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Enumclaw has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Decatur struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts.
