Basketball Recap: Waterville Comes Up Short

Waterville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Belfast Lions, falling 51-31. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-17 on January 2nd.

Waterville's record now sits at 0-16. As for Belfast, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waterville will welcome Winslow at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Waterville is facing Winslow at the right time seeing as Winslow is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Belfast, they will challenge Lincoln Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Belfast will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: Lincoln Academy will have lost five straight heading into Friday's game.
