Mater Academy Charter put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the North Miami Pioneers with a sharp 35-14 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

A big part of Mater Academy Charter's win came down to the chemistry between Dontavious Kinchens and his top target Jamal Robinson Jr. Kinchens threw for 225 yards and three TDs while Robinson Jr picked up 135 receiving yards and three scores. Mater Academy Charter also got a significant boost from Kimbriq Minnis, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.

Mater Academy Charter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jarmarr Marshall Jr., Victor Latimore, and Leondre Strawder picked up one apiece. Latimore is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made six or more in each of the last three games he's played. Mater Academy Charter got some further help from Edwardo Thompson: he forced one fumble and made nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Mater Academy Charter's record now sits at 6-0. As for North Miami, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mater Academy Charter will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Pembroke Pines Charter at 7:00 p.m. on October 11. As for North Miami, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Miramar at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
