Baseball Recap: Pender Takes a Loss

Pender was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Columbus Vikings. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Blake Howell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Peyton Tant also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Pender's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for West Columbus, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11.

While Pender had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
