Highland hadn't done well against Waterloo recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Highland's defense stepped up to hand Waterloo a 2-0 shutout. The victory was all the more spectacular given Highland's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Waterloo is ranked 16th).
