Softball Recap: Calais Has No Trouble Against Woodland

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Narraguagus, Calais was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They blew past the Woodland Dragons 16-5. The high-scoring effort was just what the Blue Devils needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

The team relied heavily on Ashaliegh Sulkowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Alexis Bowen was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Calais' win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Woodland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Calais wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-2 loss against Mattanawcook on the 27th. As for Woodland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 10-1 defeat against Machias on the 28th.
