Basketball Game Preview: South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls vs. North Stanly Comets

South Stanly is 1-9 against North Stanly since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls will take on the North Stanly Comets at 6:00 p.m.

South Stanly is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 31st straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They were beaten by Mount Pleasant 70-27. The Rowdy Rebel Bulls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-14.

Despite the defeat, South Stanly saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kanija Colson went 6 of 15 on her way to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Stanly, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 36-35 win over North Rowan.

South Stanly's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for North Stanly, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

South Stanly took a serious blow against North Stanly in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 58-20. Can South Stanly avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
