Baseball Recap: Akron-Fairgrove Takes a Loss

Akron-Fairgrove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 20-1 to the Mayville Wildcats. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 10-0 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Akron-Fairgrove saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Kern, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Gavin Guthrie also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Akron-Fairgrove's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Mayville, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

While Akron-Fairgrove had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
