Dilley is 0-4 against Hondo since March of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Dilley Wolves will head out to take on the Hondo Owls at 7:00 p.m. Dilley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Dilley made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Crystal City, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Dilley blew past Crystal City 16-6 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Izabella Proctor made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Dilley got a massive performance out of Dakota San Miguel, who went 4-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and two runs. San Miguel is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Madelyne Proctor was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.
Dilley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Hondo unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against Cotulla, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Owls have suffered since April 25, 2024.
Hondo saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xevi Hernandez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Hondo's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Dilley, their record is now 12-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dilley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Hondo struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Dilley might still be hurting after the 15-9 defeat they got from Hondo in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Dilley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
