Basketball Recap: Sherwood Takes a Loss

Sherwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-30 heartbreaker at the hands of the Leeton Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Marksmen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-19 last Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Sherwood saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kiah Felton dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Felton is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kadynce Hill was another key player, putting up six points along with five boards and three steals.

Sherwood's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Leeton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.

Sherwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-36 win against Lutheran on the 31st. As for Leeton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 49-27 loss against Holden on the 31st.
