Basketball Game Preview: Magdalena Steers vs. Cliff Cowboys/Cowgirls

The Magdalena Steers are taking a road trip to face off against the Cliff Cowboys/Cowgirls at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cliff took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Magdalena, who comes in off a win.

Last Saturday, everything came up roses for Magdalena against Animas as the squad secured a 56-21 win. The Steers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Cliff came up short against Quemado on Saturday and fell 37-29. The game marked the Cowboys/Cowgirls' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Magdalena pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.9 points over those games. As for Cliff, their loss dropped their record down to 15-2.

Magdalena came out on top in a nail-biter against Cliff in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 45-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Magdalena since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
