The Marathon Dolphins will head out on the road to face off against the Jupiter Christian Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Marathon's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Jupiter Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Jupiter Christian will be up against a hot Marathon team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Dolphins never let Berean Christian get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Dolphins have won nine games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Roco Piscetello looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Curren Nicolay was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Gabriel Leal, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Marathon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Jupiter Christian was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Somerset Academy - Canyons. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Cougars since on Tuesday.
Carter Scott was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in February.
On the hitting side, Jupiter Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Schulz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases.
Marathon's record now sits at 13-8. As for Jupiter Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Marathon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Jupiter Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Marathon might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Jupiter Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2016. Can the Dolphins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
