Roncalli and New Palestine are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Royals will head out on the road to face off against the Dragons at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Roncalli 3.6, New Palestine 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Roncalli is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over Guerin Catholic on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Royals considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, New Palestine entered their tilt with Franklin Community on Monday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Grizzly Cubs by a score of 4-1.

Sadey Hughbanks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Maddie Engle was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

New Palestine hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive games.

New Palestine pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Roncalli, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.

Roncalli was able to grind out a solid victory over New Palestine when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
