Softball Game Preview: Bristol Eastern Lancers vs. Hall Titans

The Bristol Eastern Lancers will take on the Hall Titans at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Bristol Eastern's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Hall has been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

Bristol Eastern came out on top against Farmington on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run third inning. The Lancers were the clear victors by an 18-6 margin over the River Hawks. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won five matchups by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Lyla Wegiel was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. Another player making a difference was Emily Valentine, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Newington hit Hall with a ten-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Titans came up short against the Nor'easters, falling 20-1.

Hall's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Bristol Eastern, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Bristol Eastern took their victory against Hall in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
