Football Recap: Lanier Christian Academy Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

Lanier Christian Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They snuck past the Lakeview Academy Lions with a 14-10 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Lightning, who have now won eight matchups in a row dating back to last season.

Ben Hargis had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown on only 11 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 57 yards.

Lanier Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Drew Kalinauskis, Mikah Criste, and Davis Rowan picked up one apiece. Kalinauskis got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Looking ahead, Lanier Christian Academy will venture away from home to face off against King's Ridge Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lakeview Academy, they will host Piedmont Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Lions their first taste of in-conference action this season.
