Basketball Game Preview: Hillsborough Raiders vs. Hunterdon Central Red Devils

Hillsborough hasn't had much luck against Hunterdon Central recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Hillsborough Raiders will be home for the holidays to greet the Hunterdon Central Red Devils at 1:00 p.m.

Last Thursday, Hillsborough was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 70-65 to Rutgers Prep. The loss was the Raiders' first of the season.

Despite their defeat, Hillsborough saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lucas Rollan, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 16 points and six assists, was perhaps the best of all. Those six assists gave Rollan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Feath, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hunterdon Central beat The Pingry School 51-46 on Thursday.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hillsborough fell to 2-1. As for Hunterdon Central, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Hillsborough was able to grind out a solid victory over Hunterdon Central when the teams last played back in January, winning 47-36. Will Hillsborough repeat their success, or does Hunterdon Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
