Recap: Pleasant Grove Eagles vs. Damonte Ranch Mustangs
If the Pleasant Grove Eagles were feeling good off their 82-57 takedown of the El Camino Eagles on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Pleasant Grove took a 71-54 bruising from Damonte Ranch on Friday.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carson Keplinger, who scored 15 points. The match was Keplinger's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nathan Ruff, who scored 7 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Damonte Ranch to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jace Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeriah Macias, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Pleasant Grove's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Damonte Ranch, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Pleasant Grove will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Marysville at 2:00 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Damonte Ranch, they will square off against Las Plumas at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Las Plumas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
