Baseball Recap: Scotts Valley Comes Up Short

Scotts Valley blew Soquel out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Soquel got their revenge. The Falcons fell just short of the Knights by a score of 4-2. Falcons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Knights since on Wednesday.

Owen Martin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Scotts Valley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't).

Scotts Valley dropped their record down to 5-8 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Soquel, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scotts Valley will welcome San Lorenzo Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Soquel, they will be playing at home against Harbor at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
