Recap: College Station Cougars vs. Lake Creek Lions
The College Station Cougars have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 55-54 to Lake Creek. While losing is never fun, College Station can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 420th, while Lake Creek is ranked 183rd).
It was another big night for Aedan Lewis, who scored 22 points along with three steals for Lake Creek. Lewis hasn't dropped below 20 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jett Sutton, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
College Station's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Lake Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season.
College Station will head out on the road to square off against Magnolia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Creek, they will be playing at home against Montgomery at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 877 points over their last 13 games.
