Eastern entered their tilt with Symmes Valley on Friday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Symmes Valley Vikings, sneaking past 59-57. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly two points.

Despite the loss, Symmes Valley still got an impressive performance from Willie Jones, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 boards gave Jones a new career-high. Bronx Carpenter was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Eastern pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Symmes Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

Coming up, Eastern and Southeastern will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Southeastern will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Eastern surely won't give up without a fight. As for Symmes Valley, they will welcome Western at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Symmes Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.8 points per game this season.
