Basketball Recap: Stargate School Takes a Loss

Stargate School came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They had to suffer through a 60-23 loss at the hands of the Colorado Academy Mustangs. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Shirley Vo was Stargate School's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Alena Golightly took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Colorado Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna Johnson, who posted 17 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Hannah Smith was another key player, going 8-for-13 on her way to 17 points.

Stargate School's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Colorado Academy, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Coming up, Stargate School will venture away from home to square off against Prospect Ridge Academy at 5:30 p.m. on February 26th. As for Colorado Academy, they will face off against Denver Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Denver Christian will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Colorado Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
