Basketball Recap: Farmington Phoenix vs. Syracuse Titans

Farmington lost against Syracuse back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Farmington Phoenix took a blow against the Syracuse Titans, falling 47-19. While losing is never fun, the Phoenix can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Titans are ranked 15th).

Syracuse can attribute much of their success to Aubri Stoker, who went 7-for-15 on her way to 19 points. Farmington has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Syracuse, they pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Farmington will square off against Westlake at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westlake will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Farmington surely won't give up without a fight. As for Syracuse, they will take on Pleasant Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
