Lincolnwood gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Edinburg Wildcats, sneaking past 2-1. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Lincolnwood had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-15, 25-19.

Tori Elvidge paced Lincolnwood's offense, picking up 13 kills. Elvidge got some help from Zarah Guzman and her 27 assists. Elvidge also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kinley Morris, racking up two apiece.

Edinburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincolnwood will challenge Greenfield/Northwestern at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edinburg, they will square off against New Berlin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
