Football Game Recap: Dove Creek vs. Del Norte

Dove Creek fell to Del Norte 0-20 the last time the two teams met; this time around, they exacted some revenge. Dove Creek were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Del Norte 62-26. Dove Creek were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.

Dove Creek started the matchup off right with 46 first-half points. Del Norte countered with 20 points, leaving the score at 46-20 going into the half. Dove Creek put the game away in the third quarter with 16 points from the offense and six points allowed from the defense. The victory bumped their record up to 4-2. The loss dropped Del Norte's record to 1-4.

Dove Creek will stay at home next week against Monument Valley at 7:00 PM. Dove Creek will be strutting in after a win while Monument Valley will be stumbling in from a defeat. Del Norte will be playing at home against Norwood at at 6:00 PM. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
