Basketball Recap: Kankakee Takes a Loss

Kankakee has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rock Island Rocks on Thursday. The Kays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rocks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Kankakee's record is now 9-5. As for Rock Island, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-7.

Kankakee and Rock Island could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Kankakee (ranked 149th) will meet Montini Catholic (ranked 46th) at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Meanwhile, Rock Island will take on Morton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday down 168 places (188 vs. 20).
