Soccer Game Preview: Bridgeport vs. Decatur

The Bridgeport Bulls will challenge the Decatur Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bridgeport has struggled recently with seven defeats in a row, while Decatur will arrive with six straight victories.

Friday just wasn't the day for Bridgeport's offense. They fell 2-0 to Graham on Friday.

Meanwhile, Decatur kept a clean sheet against Mineral Wells on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Rams. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Rams are ranked 612th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Decatur pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three matches. As for Bridgeport, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Bridgeport suffered a grim 7-1 defeat to Decatur in their previous meeting on February 7th. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Bridgeport was down 4-1.
