Baseball Recap: Edison Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Edison dropped their record down to 11-4 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They lost 9-0 to the Indian Creek Redskins. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wildcats have suffered since April 23, 2024.

As for Indian Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season. The result was nothing new for Indian Creek, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Indian Creek's part, Edison's batters probably weren't too happy with Sylus Hyde, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (he gave up three walks). Hyde has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ty Householder was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gavin Pownall, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Edison and Indian Creek should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Wildcats (ranked 149th) will meet Minerva (ranked 413th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Edison 2.7, the Lions 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Indian Creek will square off against Steubenville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (75 vs. 242).
