Baseball Game Preview: Pine Creek Eagles vs. Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans

For the second straight game, Pine Creek will face off against Fountain-Fort Carson. The Eagles will welcome the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pine Creek knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Fountain-Fort Carson likes a good challenge.

Pine Creek's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Fountain-Fort Carson with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Aiden Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one triple.

In other batting news, Tristan Mullis and Gavin Ust did most of the damage at the plate: Mullis went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and one double, while Ust went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Ust a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aidyn Williams, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple.

Pine Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.

Pine Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.
