Deep Creek waltzed into their contest on Monday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They took their game with ease, bagging a 64-18 victory over the Lake Taylor Titans. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Titans are ranked 104th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Deep Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kimora Hinton, who posted 15 points. Cherish Brehon was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Deep Creek pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.0 points over those games. As for Lake Taylor, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
