Volleyball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Greenbrier East

Greenbrier East won the last time they faced Independence and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Spartans came out on top in a nail-biter against the Patriots, sneaking past 2-1.

Greenbrier East had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-14, 15-13.

Kenna Humphreys paced Greenbrier East's offense, picking up six kills. Humphreys got some help from Mackenna McClure and her nine assists. Regan Rink controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Greenbrier East's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5-4. As for Independence, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11-4.

Coincidentally, Greenbrier East and Independence will both be playing Woodrow Wilson the next time they take the court. The Patriots will host the Flying Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Spartans will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
