Basketball Recap: Mackenzie Feeney Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Guerin Catholic

There's no place like home for University, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles on Thursday, sneaking past 53-50. The Trailblazers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Eagles, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead University to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mackenzie Feeney, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 boards and nine blocks. Those nine blocks gave Feeney a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylor Seay, who went 7 of 9 en route to 14 points and three steals.

Guerin Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Rachel Behrle, who posted eight points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Murphy, who had 13 points.

University has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Guerin Catholic, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-6.

University wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-49 loss against Tri-West Hendricks on the 4th. As for Guerin Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-32 victory against Perry Meridian on the 4th.
