Baseball Recap: Tocoi Creek Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

With a playoff win on the line, Tocoi Creek rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Bartram Trail Bears. Winning may never get old, but the Toros sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Kaleb Stockwell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jackson Sizemore was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season. Ben Nieves was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Tocoi Creek hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bartram Trail struck out seven times.

Tocoi Creek's record is now 14-12. As for Bartram Trail, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-10.

Coming up, Tocoi Creek will take on Buchholz at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Toros 3.5, the Bobcats 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Bartram Trail does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
