Baseball Recap: Hermann Bearcats vs. Owensville Dutchmen

Hermann lost against Owensville back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hermann Bearcats fell 6-3 to the Owensville Dutchmen. Hermann has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Owensville's part, Coleton Skiles looked comfortable as he pitched an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn't allow any walks).

On the hitting side, Landon Ely was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Zaiden Gates was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Hermann's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-6. As for Owensville, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hermann will take on Ritenour at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Owensville, they will head out on the road to square off against Father Tolton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Owensville is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
