Baseball Recap: Haynesville Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Haynesville got themselves on the board against Summerfield on Tuesday, but Summerfield never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 11-0 win. Considering the Golden Tornado have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Miller Toney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Toney was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Aiden LeBlanc was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Haynesville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 5-6-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Zavion Wright, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Haynesville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Haynesville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Summerfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Haynesville will challenge Byrd at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Summerfield, they will face off against Pleasant Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
