Baseball Game Preview: Ridgeview Wolf Pack vs. Mira Mesa Marauders

The Ridgeview Wolf Pack will head out to challenge the Mira Mesa Marauders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mira Mesa took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ridgeview, who comes in off a win.

Ridgeview was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Montgomery 4-2.

Ben Castro tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned run off 11 hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Jacob Quintero was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Isaiah Marquez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Ridgeview hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Mira Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of Bonita Vista. That's two games in a row now that the Marauders have lost by just one run.

Mira Mesa saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tristan Aguon, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Mira Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Ridgeview, their record now sits at 10-8.
