Basketball Recap: Briant Call Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat River Valley

Nelsonville-York won the last time they faced River Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Nelsonville-York Buckeyes snuck past the River Valley Raiders with a 55-50 win.

Nelsonville-York got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Briant Call out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Alec Thompson, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Despite the loss, River Valley still got an impressive performance from Tyler Wooten, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Richardson, who put up four points.

Nelsonville-York's record is now 3-1. As for River Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Nelsonville-York will host Alexander at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Nelsonville-York is facing Alexander at the right time seeing as Alexander is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for River Valley, they will venture away from home to challenge Athens at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. River Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season.
