Softball Recap: Baldwin Finds Home Field Redemption Against Clay

There's no place like home for Baldwin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Clay Blue Devils with a sharp 10-0 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won four in a row.

Baldwin got a great performance from Lilly Hubbard as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit over five innings pitched. What's more, Hubbard posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Kendall North was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Rylan Gray, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

Baldwin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clay only posted a batting average of .067.

Baldwin now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Clay, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Baldwin is taking a road trip to square off against Columbia at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Columbia has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Clay, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Ponte Vedra at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
