Baseball Game Preview: Cosby Titans vs. Powhatan Indians

The Cosby Titans will face off against the Powhatan Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Cosby 3.9, Powhatan 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Cosby was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against L.C. Bird on Tuesday. The Titans were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Skyhawks. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Powhatan won against Prince George on Monday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Indians walked away with a 4-1 win over Monacan. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Cosby has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Powhatan, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Cosby came out on top in a nail-biter against Powhatan when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 6-5. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
